In the midst of the most turbulent years in our nation's history, the MC5 embraced the promise and embodied the possibilities of a real American Revolution.

Green Noise Records is cosponsoring MC5 - and local band The Hunches will be playing Friday at 8:45 PM at Green Noise to Launch the film.

This political story interweaves with his struggle to bring his book "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" to a proper life as a feature film starring Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro. The cast of characters he meets on his odyssey, in addition to Depp and Del Toro also include songwriter Warren Zevon, actor John Cusack, artist Ralph Steadman, and fellow journalists George Plimpton and P.J. Chicago Underground Fest

Starring Kyp Malone from the band TV On the Radio.

Puts the "lo" back in lo-fi. Shot entirely with analog Hi-8 video gear and edited on linear VHS, the film looks and sounds like 1982 all over again. Centered around two San Francisco artists, a struggling punk-rock bassist and a pretentious, aspiring filmmaker, who are uncomfortably approaching age 30, "Scumrock" tells a poignant story while relishing in the true aesthetic spirit of underground cinema.

Monster Road explores the wildly fantastic worlds of legendary underground clay animator Bruce Bickford. Tracing the origins of his remarkably unique sensibility, the film journeys back to Bickford's childhood in a competitive household during the paranoia of the Cold War and examines his relationship with his father, George, who is facing the onset of Alzheimer's Disease.

Bickford's films, especially the dark and magical clay animations he created for Frank Zappa in the 1970s, have achieved cult status worldwide. Entirely self-taught, the 56-year-old Bickford works alone in a makeshift basement studio in his house near Seattle.

Featuring never before seen Zappa animations!
